The Diamant PRO Digital from Müller Martini takes digital hardcover production to an unprecedented level. It offers maximum versatility, exceptional process reliability, and performance that makes production cost-effective from the very first book.
The new bookline is the ultimate solution for customized, highly flexible book production, right down to individual copies. This is made possible by a unique individual servo drive concept, the latest control technology, and dynamic format adjustment for producing both round- and flat-back books to industrial quality standards.

Full Versatility from Book of One to Series Production
The Diamant PRO Digital is designed for versatility throughout. It adjusts formats dynamically, segment by segment, reduces empty cycles, and handles changeovers within a product family without operator intervention or production stops. Fully sequential, barcode-controlled changeovers across the entire line, combined with the Connex workflow, enable automatic, seamless adjustments to changing jobs.
The intelligent JDF workflow, featuring barcode matching and comprehensive product tracking, ensures reliable processing even for complex job sequences. Optional book block and case rejection systems provide additional process reliability. As a result, the Diamant PRO Digital achieves the highest level of automation currently available for hardcover booklines.
Maximum Product Diversity
Integrated barcode matching, working in conjunction with the individual case feeder and the book block and case rejection systems, ensure that all components work seamlessly together and reliably prevents sequencing errors. An integrated thickness measurement system checks book block thickness, while Connex continuously documents the entire product sequence and automatically corrects minor deviations. Production continues without interruption, significantly increasing output and enabling a wide variety of formats and jobs to be processed in direct succession. This allows a broad range of products to be manufactured efficiently in Book of One mode. Integrated thickness measurement precisely adjusts product-related axes, such as the splitter side guide, to ensure the highest product quality.
Automation at the Highest Level
The Diamant PRO Digital delivers outstanding automation performance, exceptionally short makeready times, and minimal operator intervention. With a maximum speed of 1,800 cycles per hour, it achieves high throughput in batch production and doubles output in Book of One production compared with the previous model.
The new control system, with its integrated main visualization interface, job management, and product tracking down to the individual copy, simplifies operation, as does the new touchscreen HMIs at every station. New adjustment drives and an optimized machine design enable format changeovers with minimal downtime, allowing the machine to quickly resume production at full speed.
A split bridge with two short segments enables even faster format adjustments, since smaller segments can be adjusted more quickly.
Digital Features for Maximum Efficiency
The digital features of the Diamant PRO Digital further expands its flexibility. The variable-format Vario headbanding station processes spine lengths from 140 to 360 mm without operator intervention. This is achieved through the use of narrow paper rolls and automatic activation of the individual segments. Another highlight is the integrated thickness and book block overhang measurement systems, including spine height measurement in the rounding and backing station. These systems enable automatic adjustments during production to optimize settings and product quality.
The individual case feeder is ideally suited to Book of One production and allows multiple formats to be staged simultaneously in the feeder area, so different jobs can be processed without interruption. Production remains seamless, whether handling individual copies or longer runs. Integrated hot-melt joint gluing, with automatic calculation of application height and glue length as well as motorized nozzle adjustment, completes the digital feature package. Reducing mechanical components such as shafts, gears, and chains also lowers maintenance costs.
