Connex Workflow – Production Under Control
With the Connex workflow modules, you get the best out of your production – up to a completely automated workflow from pre-press to production of the end product. By connecting the LineControl modules to the customer’s MIS, the data can be transmitted directly to the machine without the intervention of an operator. Thanks to the integration of the production line, it is also possible to receive production feedback right down to the individual product in real time. The feedbacks can be evaluated and clearly displayed in an individualized way by the Connex Info Cloud modules.
Connex LineControl
The best-integrated solution for overall production control
LineControl enables the integration of Müller Martini and Hunkeler production systems into a higher-level planning system (MIS/MES) via digital job pocket (JDF). All relevant production control data is extracted from the JDF file, prepared for the connected production line, and then transferred to the production line. This reduces organizational work operators perform day-to-day significantly. Job data, such as the print volume, job name, format, etc., is available right at the machine without the operator making any manual entries. This ensures the data quality throughout the production process.
Reduce setup times
Nowadays, operators have numerous orders. LineControl allows them to focus entirely on their work, as Connex processes all the order data transmitted by the MIS completely automatically. LineControl has a clear display that indicates the next work steps (e.g. the headband will be changed in ten minutes).
Fully automated workflow
The operator does not have to worry about providing the order data. The digital job sheet is transmitted directly to the production line and provides the operator with a clear list of tasks to choose from. Changes to the order data can be made directly in the MIS and are available to the machine even if they are made at the last minute.
Queue optimization
Connex LineControl distributes the orders optimally to the production machines and thus makes ideal use of existing resources. This minimizes idle times and changeover waste.

Connex Info Cloud collects the production data from the connected production lines from both Müller Martini and third-party units, transforming them into a wide range of meaningful key figures. Data analyses are accessed in real time or as a report straight to your e-mail inbox. Each user sees the relevant data at a glance.

Dashboard module – data evaluation in real time
The Dashboard module makes real-time data available in a clear format. It can display the integrated machines and their status, as well as the jobs currently being processed. The dashboard display can be personalized at user level so that each user sees only the data relevant to them.
Analytics module – meaningful KPIs
The Analytics module focuses on flexible online data analysis. Various predefined evaluation and visualisation options are available. This allows production performance to be analyzed and specific events to be checked. From the findings, measures can be derived that positively influence the production flow.
Module Reporting – Automated Reports
The Reporting module focuses on the recurring generation of evaluations based on predefined templates. All data from the past up to shortly before the triggering point can be used for the key figure calculation. PDF reports can be created from these, which can either be stored in a directory or sent as an e-mail from onwards.
Connex ImpoWhiz
Ready-to-print PDF thanks to seamlessly integrated pre-print stage
With Connex ImpoWhiz, the entire print pre-stage is seamlessly integrated into the production process. This pre-press application reliably ensures automated and quick generation of PDF files, yet it is easy to operate. The software prepares the data for printing, places the orders on the signatures or roll to be processed, and inserts ID markings completely automatically and in line with the individual workflow. Connex ImpoWhiz can also be used for variable data printing, as it can seamlessly impose different PDFs.
For marks and codes
Connex ImpoWhiz automatically and dynamically inserts all necessary register and print marks. Included are 1D and 2D codes for subsequent machinery, as well as cut marks, fold marks, colour marks, or simple text and annotations to assist staff.
Optimal quality
Proven features of traditional prepress are transported into the digital age thanks to Connex ImpoWhiz: Adjustments such as creeping and shingling are executed automatically based on the electronic job ticket.
Versatile application
The module spans from classic finishing to specialised applications, such as dynamic signature composition for digital roll processing, encompassing all use cases. Two or more jobs can be placed side by side on a roll to optimize resource utilisation.
