06/01/2016

Muller Martini’s booth attracted large numbers of visitors from all continents on the opening day. That massive interest proves that Muller Martini’s key topic of Finishing 4.0 has struck a chord with the graphic arts industry.

Using nine connected production lines, Muller Martini is demonstrating live what Finishing 4.0 means in daily practice at its drupa booth A49 in Hall 2. Over 20 different (hybrid) print products are being produced in hundreds of copies to demonstrate the key words of smart automation, runs of one copy, and touchless workflow.

Finishing 4.0 stands for numerous innovative, intelligently combined solutions for print finishing in both the digital and offset segments. All the business cases being showcased at the drupa booth are about producing customized and variable print products cost-effectively and efficiently using means of industrial production. The complex products that are being produced at the Muller Martini booth using a touchless workflow include, for example, a personalized educational book – a variable data printing job that is being produced using three different systems, from the roll to the finished book.

In line with its key drupa topic, Muller Martini is showcasing numerous machine innovations at its booth that optimize touchless workflows in the production of magazines, brochures, books, and newspapers. The Primera MC saddle stitcher, the Alegro Digital perfect binder, the revolutionary InfiniTrim three-knife trimmer, the Ventura MC Digital thread sewing machine, three new SigmaLine functions, the open Connex architecture, and the MPOWER and MMSupport Glasses MMServices tools are all world premieres. Other systems also boast innovative and groundbreaking innovations to meet the need for increasing connectivity.

55 media representatives, who were warmly welcomed by Bruno Müller at the international press conference, gained an impression of the innovative solutions towards the end of the first day of the trade fair. The CEO of Muller Martini explained the booth concept to specialist journalists from across the world, presented the machine innovations and demonstrated the production flow of complex books and brochures live on the Diamant MC Digital bookline and the Vareo perfect binder together with the InfiniTrim three-knife trimmer.
